Spring 2009 (3rd hour)

Spring is upon us once again. That means a start of another quarter. New lessons. New opportunities for our kids to grow in their understanding of, and love for, their "Special Friend" Jesus.

So far this year we've learned that God made everything. We learned He even made us. We completed a 5 week series on our 5 senses, and explored each of them in a fun way. We found out that God sent his Son Jesus to be our Savior. We learned that Jesus is a Special Friend who loves us and will never leave us. That Jesus even loves us when we've been bad. We practiced a little "mantra" I said" Jesus loves us..." They said" All the time!" I said " All the time..." They said " Jesus loves us!!" We also learned that WE love Jesus too. As this next quarter begins we will be learning about the "Good Samaritan" and how Jesus wants us to care for each other. We will also be preparing for "Resurrection Sunday". We have been practicing songs for Easter. We will be performing them on March 29th in the 2nd and 3rd services, as well as April 4th, prior to the Mighty Musicians Spring musical. Kristi Allen will be sending home a CD with the songs on them. Please practice with your children at home as much as possible. They LOVE, I mean LOVE to sing. We incorporate songs in the lesson too. Sometimes when there is a truth that I am needing to get across to the kids, I sing it out. I learned a lot about the Lord through song as a child, and those songs and life lessons have stuck with me. So, I use it with your kids too. As you read through the lesson schedule, feel free make suggestions. If there is an activity you think would be appropriate for one of the lessons, let me know. Also, I am so open for decorating ideas for the classroom. Let me know if you have any. Remember Parent help is ALWAYS welcome and needed. Come in and give it a try. It'll be good practice for when they get into school. Come join me in teaching your children about our Wonderful Lord!
